Outcomes:

  • Health Risks: Over 600 were eliminated or controlled in 2006-2007.
  • Increased Morale: Reported in 95% of the participating schools (N=308).
  • Saving Lives: At least one life-saving lifestyle change reported in 83% of participating schools (N=269).
  • Disease Management: Participants reported average days lost to chronic illness decreased from 18.76 to 7.94 (N=1050).
  • Physical Activity: 74% of participants say they now walk 8,000-15,000 steps daily (N=5,328).
  • Weight Loss: 31% lost weight (N = 2,232).
  • Overall Wellness: 66% say they feel healthier overall (N = 4,752).
